Dear Gill, I am sure your will be in some place where you will read these lines. There are so many things I would have liked to tell you…but there is one to summarize all. “Thank you”. Thank you for being so welcoming since the very first time I arrived at your house in Sprowston…So nice , you both, that you made me feel as part of your family. Thank you for being so nice with my friends and family.. Thank you for teaching me all those things about your country and culture that can´t be found in a book…for those “early morning tea”, cups ..tea at your parent´s…..your tasteful summer pudding….. your Yorkshire pudding….when they were homemade….. for that family pic-nic in London….. you made me love your country.

I remember once going on your car to London . I got on at the back with Katie and Claire. Claire was almost a baby….too many years ago…. She started to cry and I wasn´t able to understand why and what she intended to tell me …..then you turned your head and told me very slowly “ she is saying that –you-are –sitting-on- her –blanket”. And then I noticed I was sitting on the small blanket Claire had always around her tiny finger.

And how to forget the evening I arrived a bit late and you almost called the police….and I had been sitting with my school mates at the Cathedral garden telling jokes …and you told me there was an old cemetery there!!

Not only will I have such nice memories but also my family….having you and Brian here for our wedding or celebrating a “mock” Christmas Dinner the last time we visited you… You can be proud of it! You did it so well that since that year we started to go to England some days for Christmas….always when you left your country looking for the sun and the light of Spain.

And I can´t forget the last words you wrote me only some weeks ago, you felt so sad thinking you weren´t coming back to Spain again…… Gill, you will always be with us in Spain!!
